Öğe Chaotic Dynamics of a Fractal Josephson Junction(Springer, 2015) Canturk, Mehmet; Askerzade, Iman N.The nonlinearity and memory properties of fractal junctions have significant implications for basic science and technology. In this study, we present chaotic dynamics of Josephson tunneling junctions with fractal nonconductive or insulating layer. Having constructed the circuit model, the influence of the fractal layer on the dynamics of Josephson junction will be investigated for different control parameters. The motivation of the study is to have a detailed knowledge about the dynamical behavior in practical circuit design.Öğe Chaotic Dynamics of Externally Shunted Josephson Junction with Unharmonic CPR(Springer, 2013) Canturk, Mehmet; Askerzade, Iman N.The current-phase relation (CPR) of Josephson junctions based on high-T (c) superconductors and other types of superconducting structures contain second harmonics. In this work, the influence of second harmonics of CPR on an externally shunted Josephson junction circuit model with nonzero inductance has been studied to analyze the chaotic dynamics of the system. Having constructed the circuit model, the time dependent simulations are carried out for a variety of control parameters. It is shown that the presence of second harmonics leads to a change in the boundary of the chaotic region in bifurcation diagram.Öğe Impact of Job Requirements on ICT Curriculum(Tempus Publications, 2011) Canturk, Mehmet; Rehan, MohammadThis study presents an approach to address the issue of keeping curriculum content in synch with the changing demands; in other words dynamic curriculum delivery or dynamic curriculum updating based on a model. In this approach, the analysis of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) job data from the industry, and as well as the ongoing use of expert knowledge from the field of information science keep the ICT curriculum content up-to-date, relevant, and consistent with the educational goals of the universities, and students in a variety of educational and cultural contexts. A number of recommendations are put forward for educating students in Turkish universities in order to enhance their opportunities in the international job market.Öğe Numerical Study of I-V Characteristics of Externally Shunted Josephson Junctions With Unharmonic Current-Phase Relation(Ieee-Inst Electrical Electronics Engineers Inc, 2012) Canturk, Mehmet; Askerzade, Iman N.In this paper, the influence of unharmonic current-phase relation (CPR) in an externally shunted Josephson circuit model with nonzero inductance and resistance has been studied. The inclusion of second harmonic also leads to an increase in the hysteresis of I-V characteristics. The simulation results highlight the influence of unharmonic CPR in the realization of the Josephson junction circuits.Öğe Numerical Study of Josephson Junction Qubits With an Unharmonic Current-Phase Relation(Ieee-Inst Electrical Electronics Engineers Inc, 2011) Canturk, Mehmet; Askerzade, Iman N.This paper numerically analyzes the influence of second harmonics on the characteristics of Josephson junction quantum bits (qubits). It is shown that the splitting of energy states of phase qubits is sensitive to energy scale and unharmonicity parameters. On the other hand, for charge qubits, the expectation value of the Cooper-pair number is not affected by the inclusion of unharmonicity parameters, whereas the expectation value of the superconducting current is strongly influenced by energy scale and unharmonicity parameters. The numerical results seem to present the importance of second harmonics in the realization of superconducting qubits.Öğe Performance Analysis of a Software Developed with and without Design Patterns: A Case Study(Ieee, 2015) Kazan, Emre; Bastan, Muhammet; Canturk, MehmetThis study investigates performance difference between a new bandrol tracking system designed using Model-View-Controller, Model-View-Presenter and Proxy patterns and the bandrol tracking system which TRT (Turkish Radio Television Corporation) currently uses and which was designed without using the aforementioned design patterns. The study concludes that the use of design patterns increases the testability of software under development and also decreases the development effort.
