In the designed hybrid MAC, favorable aspects of both CSMA (Carrier Sense Multiple Access) and TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) techniques are considered. Consequently, a MAC protocol which is more energy efficient than both CSMA and TDMA-based MAC protocols is aimed.
