Arapgir has been home to different cultures due to its geographical characteristics and location.Under Roman and its successor Byzantine rule, its military structure was also seen due to its ability to be a border in the conflicts with Iran. It has developed with the trust environment brought by the Turkish administration in Arapgir and has reached the starboard administrative unit. It has made a name for itself with its historical way, production, handicrafts, weaving industry and trained manpower. Some of the arched stone bridges in arapgir's historical monuments have been our subject of study. Some of the arched bridges of around thirty on the borders of Arapgir remained standing, but others remained relics or names. Some bridges have also been used with modifications on their sides or on them. The passage of the destroyed bridges was continued by using wood on the foundation or side. The bridges that have survived with their original architectural structures have been examined. The majority of the arched bridges in Arapgir are built with one eye. It has been observed that neighborhood crossings, access to religious places, bazaars, historical road route were taken into consideration in its construction. Taşköprü, which is a Roman work, was built for military purposes. The Meydan, Kozluk and Tarhanik bridges are also commercial road-oriented. No decoration technique was observed on the bridges. Opening the arched bridges to traffic by making changes on them damages the historical texture. This heritage needs to be preserved and given the necessary importance in terms of reminding the past.
