Öğe Solutions of partial differential equations with computer algebra(IEEE Computer Society help@computer.org, 2013) Sirin, TufanSymbolic computation techniques for solutions of Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) with Maxima, an open source computer algebra system (CAS) are represented in three new packages. They are prepared in Maxima's user's language. After giving the initial and boundary conditions, packages automatically give the results and plot the graphs. The packages are designed as ready to use and modify instructional tools by users with computer-lab sessions of engineering courses. Solutions are performed by Finite Difference Method (FDM). © 2013 IEEE. © 2014 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.Öğe SOLUTIONS OF PARTIAL DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS WITH COMPUTER ALGEBRA(Ieee, 2013) Sirin, TufanSymbolic computation techniques for solutions of Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) with Maxima, an open source computer algebra system (CAS) are represented in three new packages. Computer technology gives a lot of opportunities to prepare instructional materials on that purpose. Computer Algebra Systems (CAS) are the software that can do more than a calculator. Appropriate use of the right software enhances teaching and learning the math and math related courses like Physics. In this paper, a sample computer algebra system package performed with wxMaxima on the topics of Freely falling objects Throwing Upward and Projectile Motion is represented. The package involves dynamic worksheets that can be used in teaching and learning the topics. Calculations, tables, graphics and programming techniques about the topics that one needs during instructional activities inside and outside the classroom are implemented. The package can be downloaded from http://www.turgutozal.edu.tr/tsirin/dosyalar.aspx?MENUID=76. © 2017 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.Öğe Teaching Physics with a ComputerAlgebra System(Ieee, 2015) Sirin, Tufan; Simsek, MustafaTeacher oriented, limited with the time and bordered with the walls of the classroom traditional education methods are being replaced with self-paced, learner oriented constructivist tendencies.
