A rare clinical manifestation of spinulate demodicosis
(Dermatology Online Journal achuntley@ucdavis.edu, 2016) Tamer, Funda; Sarifakioğlu, Evren; Örenay, Özge Mine
Demodicosis is a chronic skin disease caused by Demodex mites such as Demodex folliculorum and Demodex brevis. Demodex mites live in pilosebaceous units and they are regarded as a part of the normal skin flora. Nevertheless, it has been suggested that the presence of five or more mites per cm² by the standardized skin surface biopsy technique could be considered as pathogenic. © 2016 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
