Üreticilerin iyi tarım uygulamalarına yaklaşımı ve yygulamaların benimsenmesini etkileyen faktörler: Mersin ili örneği

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, Mersin ilinde iyi tarım uygulaması yapan ve yapmayan üreticilerin sosyo ekonomik yapısı ortaya konulmuş olup, üreticilerin iyi tarım uygulamalarına yaklaşımları değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmada ayrıca iyi tarım uygulama durumunu etkileyen faktörler de belirlenmiştir. Veriler, 2014 yılında iyi tarım uygulayan 26 adet portakal, 35 adet limon ve 28 adet mandarin üreticisinden elde edilmiş olup, aynı sayıda iyi tarım uygulaması yapmayan üretici ile de anket çalışması gerçekleştirilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde ortalama, standart sapma, yüzde hesapları gibi temel tanımlayıcı istatistiklerden yararlanılmıştır. Elde edilen sürekli veriler t testine, kesikli veriler ise ki kare testine tabi tutularak iyi tarım uygulayan ve konvansiyonel üretim yapan üreticiler arasında farklılık olup olmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Çiftçilerin iyi tarım uygulaması eğilimleri ikili lojistik regresyon analizi kullanılarak belirlenmiştir. Üreticilerin yaşlarının, traktör sayılarının, toplam gelirlerinin, yeniliklere karşı tutumlarının ve örtü altı yetiştiriciliği yapma durumlarının iyi tarım uygulama durumunu pozitif yönde etkilediği, tarımsal deneyimlerinin ve işledikleri arazi büyüklüğünün ise negatif yönde etkilediği tespit edilmiştir. Üreticilere göre iyi tarım uygulamasının yaygınlaştırılması için iyi tarım uygulamaları ile ilgili teknik eğitimler verilmesi ve sağlanan desteklemelerin artırılması önem arz etmektedir.

this study, the socio economic structures of the producers who applied and did not apply good agricultural practices in Mersin province were presented and the approaches of the producers to good agricultural practices were evaluated. Besides, the factors affecting the application of good agricultural practices were determined. The data were obtained from the total of 26 orange, 35 lemon and 28 mandarin producers who applied good agricultural practices in 2014 and the surveys were applied to the same number of the producers who did not apply good agricultural practices. Main descriptive statistics such as average, standard deviation and percentages were used for the analysis of the data. The continuous data were subjected to t test and discrete data were subjected to chi square test in order to determine the differences between the groups. The tendencies of the producers to good agricultural practices were determined by using logistic regression analysis. It was determined that the producers’ ages, tractor number, agricultural income, attitude to the innovations and greenhouse farming affected the good agricultural practices application positively whereas the agricultural experiences’ of the producers and the land size affected negatively. According to the opinions of the producers, the technical trainings should be provided and the subsidy amounts should be increased in order to generalize the good agricultural practices.
